The YouthConnekt Africa Summit is an annual Summit that connects youth from across the Continent and beyond with policy influencers, political leaders, and public, private and development sector institutions to engage, discuss, design, and accelerate youth empowerment efforts at a continental level. In addition, every year, the Summit intends to create a platform for a larger number of young people from all over the Continent to learn and engage in YouthConnekt Africa’s youth development program. Every year, the YouthConnekt Africa Summit aims to address various youth issues related to the economic, social, and political empowerment of youth in Africa. This year’s Summit will focus on “Africa Beyond Aid: Positioning the Youth for the Post COVID Economy and AfCFTA Opportunities.”
Application is open to all young people in Africa or the diaspora. Young people from all other parts of the world are welcome to apply.
Applicants must have a strong passion for Pan-Africanism, leadership, community service, entrepreneurship and change management. They must also exhibit an acute sense of cultural and social intelligence and be willing to embrace diversity. More importantly, they must be ready to treat other delegates with respect and dignity, regardless of their backgrounds.
Yes, young people under 18 years may apply to attend the YCA Summit 2021, but only virtually.
It goes without saying that the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted everything. Due to restrictions and tighter organisational constraints imposed by COVID-19, in-person participation has been restricted to ages 18-35, unless you fall under any other category designated on the registration portal, .i.e. official, youth worker, young entrepreneur, media or exhibitor. If you are under 18 years, kindly select the virtual option to register to participate in this exciting event. A lot of resources are being deployed for this hybrid event to give virtual attendees the same experience as the in-person participants.
The decision to restrict under 18 to virtual participation is purely out of the concern for health and safety and compliance with COVID-19 protocols.
As above in (C), if you are above 35 years and wish to attend the Summit, there is provision to do so during the registration process online. Apart from attending virtually, there are options to apply for in-person participation under an official, youth worker, young entrepreneur, media or exhibitor category. (T&Cs Apply)
Not at all! Virtual attendees will have the same experience as the in-person participants – this includes virtual networking on the Hubilo platform, access to virtual exhibition booths and lounges, et cetera. This state-of-the-art hybrid event hosting platform gives users the same benefit as if they were attending in person.

There is NO fee for your participation. However, all other costs, such as flight, COVID-19 Tests, accommodation, meals, and Visa, are that of the delegate.
International travel arrangements and costs will be the sole responsibility of each delegate.
The Organisers do not provide any financial assistance for delegates. We suggest you look for sponsorship from your government or other youth-friendly organisations.
The Organisers will issue a formal invitation letter to delegates upon successful completion of their registration process to facilitate the application of entry visas. You can present this official letter together with any additional accreditation documents to the Ghana High Commission/Embassy/Consulate of the host country if you are applying for an entry visa.
